CHAPTER 148.

CHAP. 149.

An act relating to the Eleventh District of Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That at the next election of delegates to the
General Assembly of Maryland, the legal voters of the
eleventh district of Baltimore county, shall determine by
a majority of votes whether the polls or place of holding
all future elections in said district, shall be held at Mr.
Burton's tavern, where they are now held, or at Mr. John
D. Buck's store.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the next election
of members to the General Assembly, the judges of elec-
tion in said district, on receiving the ballot of each voter,
shall ask him whether he be for or against such change
of the place of voting.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the clerks to the judges
of election shall record the name of every voter who votes
for or against such change of place of holding the election,
and if the majority of the voters of said district, shall de-
termine that the polls or place of election in said district,
shall be removed to Mr. John D. Bucks store, the elec-
tions of said district shall hereafter be held at said store,
otherwise the place of voting or polls, shall be and remain
at Mr. Burton's tavern, where they are now held.

CHAPTER 149.

 

An act empowering the commissioners of Baltimore Coun-
ty, to repair or rebuild a bridge over the Great Gun-
powder Falls, at Cromwell's Ford.

1, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be lawful for the commissioners of Baltimore
county, to levy upon all the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding two thousand dol-
lars, to repair or rebuild a bridge across the Great Gun-
powder Falls, at what is called Cromwell's Ford, if they
in their judgment shall deem a bridge necessary, and that
it is expedient to erect the same, and in case the said com-
missioners of said county, shall deem it expedient to build
said bridge, they shall appoint two commissioners for
erecting the same, and the said commissioners shall also
contract with some person or persons for repairing or
rebuilding said bridge, who shall give bond and security
to the commissioners of Baltimore county, for building the
same in a good and substantial manner.
