R E SO L U T I O N S.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby authorised and directed to pay unto
Patrick Murdock, of Allegany county, or order, forty dollars, the same being in full compensation for lot 3876,
laying westward of Fort Cumberland, heretofore sold by the state, and to which the state can make no title,

RESOLVED, 'That Charles Alexander Warfield, and Robert Dorsey, surviving executor of Edward Dorsey, of
Caleb, be and they are hereby exonerated and discharged from the debts due the state from the said Charles
Alexander Warfield and Edward Dorsey, of Caleb, deceased, as securities of Dennis Griffith, and the trea-
surer of the western shore be and he is hereby directed to release to the said parties the bonds for the payment
of the debts aforesaid.

RESOLVED, That Martha Hall, administratrix of Edward Hall, of Henry, shall be authorised to lay before
the auditor her claim, as administratrix aforesaid, against William Mollison, surviving partner of William and
Robert Mollison, and the auditor is hereby authorised and empowered to liquidate and adjust the same, and to
ascertain the balance, if any, due thereon to the said Martha Hall, administratrix of the said Edward Hall, of
Henry, and the treasurer of the western shore is hereby authorised to pay to the said Martha Hall, out of any
unappropriated money in the treasury, the amount of the balance so to be ascertained by the auditor; provided,
that if it shall appear to the auditor that there are debts in the hands of the citizens of this state, due to the
aforesaid William Mollison, survivor as aforesaid, liable to be affected by said claim of Martha Hall, then iff
such case the auditor is hereby directed only to allow the said Martha Hall the balance which may be due to
her, deducting the amount of the debts so due to the said William Mollison.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay unto Edward Roberts, the messenger to the court of
chancery, the sum of twenty-five dollars, as a compensation for his services for the last year.

RESOLVED, That John Kilty be permitted by the keepers of the records of the late general court and
court of appeals to have access thereto, in order to take extracts or copies therefrom, to aid him in the
compilation of the work, entitled, The Landholder's Assistant, and Land-office Guide, and also to the said re-
cords after a clerk shall be appointed.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to the examiner-general of the western shore such
sum, in addition to his fees for the present year, as shall amount to the sum of three hundred pounds current
money, and the examiner-general shall lay before the next session of assembly the amount of fees by him re-
ceived in this year, on oath.

RESOLVED, That our senators in the congress of the United States be instructed, and our representatives
requested, to take all legal and necessary steps, to use their utmost exertions, as soon as the same is practica-
ble, to obtain an amendment of the federal constitution, so as to authorise and empower the congress of the United
States to pass a law, whenever they may deem it expedient, to prevent the further importation of slaves from any
of the West-India islands, from the coast of Africa, or elsewhere, into the United States, or any part thereof.
RESOLVED, That the governor be and he is hereby requested to transmit copies of the aforegoing resolution
to our senators and representatives in congress, also to the executives of all the different, states in the union,
with a request that the same may be laid before their respective legislatures for their concurrence and adoption.

RESOLVED. That Samuel Moale, as trustee for the benefit of the creditors of Mark Alexander, be and he Is
hereby entitled to all the privileges and benefits of a resolution passed at November session, seventeen hundred
and ninety-seven, respecting the return of money to the persons, or their legal representatives, who had lodged,
the same in the treasury for the purpose of extinguishing the claims of Brinish merchants or creditors, and. also
to the privileges and benefits of any other resolution on this subject, in the same manner that he would have
been had he been the representative of Mark Alexander, instead of the trustee aforesaid.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Thomas Bayly, Esquire, one of the delegates
from Somerset county, or to his order, seven dollars, for two days attendance, and to John Cottman, Esquire,
a delegate from the same county, twenty-one dollars, for six days attendance, which sums have been omitted to
be allowed them on the journal of accounts.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the eastern shore pay to the examiner of the said shore the sum of one hun-
dred and thirty-three pounds seven shillings and ten-pence three farthings, to complete his salary or the year
eighteen hundred and five.

Whereas by a resolution of the last session of the legislature, the sum of twenty thousand dollars was ap-
propriated out of the fines, forfeitures, amerciaments and licences, arising within the city and county of Bal-
timore, which, in the opinion of the treasurer, could not be drawn out of the treasury by reason of the de-
fective and inexplicit provisions of the said resolutions; therefore, RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the
