RESOLUTIONS.

western shore pay to John Eager Howard. Thomas Dixon, Josias Pennington, Thomas M'Elderry, Robert C.
Love, Levi Hollingsworth, Daniel Conn, Samuel Sterrett and George Warner, commissioners appointed to su-
perintend the erection of a penitentiary, or to their order, or the order of a majority of them, the sum of
twenty thousand dollars, to be applied to that object, as the same shall come into the treasury from the fines,
forfeitures, licences and amerciaments, arising within the city -and county of Baltimore.

RESOLVED, That the executive of this state be directed to postpone the sale of the following tracts of land,
claimed by a certain Ariana French, until the chancellor shall decide between the said Ariana French and the
state of Maryland, to wit: Chance, containing one hundred and forty acres; Choice, seventy-six acres pro-
perty, one hundred and sixty-eight acres; Tit for Tat, seventy-three acres; Blooming; Plains, nine hundred
and seventy-seven acres; Durham, three hundred and eighty-four acres; Rising Sun, two hundred and twenty-
five acres; Tom's Venture, ninety-two acres, and Homony Isle, one hundred and one acres; provided the
said Ariana French, her heirs or assigns, shall make application to the chancellor of this state, according to
law, on or before the first day of November next.

An ACT for the establishment of a school in the city of Baltimore.
An ACT to authorise the justices of the levy court of Washington county to assess a sum of money on the taxable
property of said county for the purposes therein mentioned.
An ACT to authorise and empower the levy court of Worcester county to levy annually a sum of money on the
assessable property of said county for the purposes therein mentioned.
An ACT to open a road from Barnsville, in Montgomery county, to Zachariah Maccubbin's mill, and thence to
intersect the main road leading from Frederick-town to George-town, at or near Log-town.
An ACT to vest temporary powers in the several clerks in the several counties of this state.
An ACT for the more effectual preservation of the breed of wild deer in Somerset county.
An ACT to enable James Walker, John Sprigg Belt and Archibald Dorsey, to complete the collection of the coun-
ty tax in certain districts in Anne-Arundel county.
An ACT authorising James Hackett, and others, securities of James R. Pratt, late sheriff, and John B. Hacket

and Richard E. Harrison, late collectors, of Queen-Anne's county, to complete the collection of the money due
the said sheriff and collectors.
An ACT, confirming the title of Ignatius Davis to the land therein mentioned.

cincts of Baltimore, and for the regulation of the same.

the Peach Bottom road crosses the York road leading to Rock Run, to intersect the main road leading from the
Black House to the Pennsylvania line, at Miers's mill, on Deer creek.
An ACT authorising the laying out a road in Worcester county from Mitchell's causeway to intersect the Soccum
road leading to Broad creek.
