municipal election, submit to the voters of Boonsboro the
question whether or not said bonds shall be issued, and
upon the ballots to be used at said election, there shall be
printed or written the words, "For Water Bonds", and
"Against Water Bonds", and if a majority of the votes cast
upon said question shall be "For Water Bonds", then the
said Burgess MAYOR and Council shall exercise the
powers vested in them by this Act and shall issue the bonds
authorized by this Act; but if the majority of the votes
case upon said question shall be, "Against Water Bonds",
the power shall not be exercised, nor the bonds issued, but
the said Burgess MAYOR and Council, however, are here-
by authorized to submit the same question to the qualified
voters of Boonsboro at the next general election held in said
Boonsboro, or at any special election to be called by publi-
cation of a notice thereof in some newspaper published or
circulated in Washington County, at least once before the
date fixed therefor, and also notice of said special election
shall be given by hand bills set up in at least twenty-five
conspicuous places in the town, which date of publication
and notice by hand bills shall not be less than fifteen (15)
days nor more than thirty (30) days preceding the date
fixed for said special election. All such elections shall be
held as are other elections of Boonsboro, and at such elec-
tions the qualified voters of Boonsboro shall determine
whether or not the provisions of this Act shall become
effective, and such provisions shall not become effective
until they are approved by receiving a majority of the
votes cast upon such question, and the said Burgess
MAYOR and Council may call a special election for sub-
mitting the said question to the qualified voters of said
Boonsboro whenever and so often as in their judgment
they shall deem best, and they shall so submit the question
or shall call a special election whenever and so often as
it shall be petitioned to do so by at least fifty qualified
voters of said Boonsboro, provided, however, that after
the submission of said question to a vote under the pro-
visions of this Section, another or other election submitting
said question shall not be called or held within six (6)
months from the last election on said question.

SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or
parts of Acts inconsistent herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.

SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
