hold or use up to but not in excess of 150 acres of land in
one tract for such purpose.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 98)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
16 of the Charter of Washington College, as the same
was enacted by Chapter 121 of the Acts of 1922, which
act amended the original act of incorporation for Wash-
ington College, as contained in Chapter 8 of the Acts of
the April Session of 1782; changing the designation of
said Section 16 to Section 17, authorizing the present
members of the Board of Visitors and Governors of
Washington College to select additional members of said
Board, relating generally to the members, appointment
and tenure of said Board of Visitors and Governors and
removing an obsolete provision from said section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 16 of the Charter of Washington College, as
the same was enacted by Chapter 121 of the Acts of 1922,
which act amended the original act of incorporation of
Washington College, as contained in Chapter 8 of the Acts
of the April Session of 1782, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, that the designation of
said section be changed to Section 17, to read as follows:

[Section XVI] Section XVII. (a). The members of the
Visitors and Governors of Washington College shall be
at least twenty-five in number, twelve of whom shall be
elected by the alumni of Washington College and twelve of
[said number] whom shall be appointed by the Governor
of the State of Maryland; these twenty-four members or a
quorum thereof shall elect annually, during the month of
