Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", as said section was amended
by Chapter 487 of the Acts of 1951, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that a new
sub-section be and it is hereby added to Section 605B of
said Code, said new sub-section to be known as Sub-
section (j) and to follow immediately after Sub-section «(i)
of said section and all to read as follows:
605A. (a) The provisions of this section shall apply
to and be effective in the following election districts of
Prince George's County: 6th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 20th, 2nd,
9th, 21st, 1st and the 4th and 5th precincts of the 17th.
(b) The County Commissioners of Prince George's
County are hereby authorized and directed to levy for the
year [1952] 1954 and annually thereafter a fire tax of
ten cents on every One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) of the
assessed value of all real and personal property located in
each of said election districts.

(j) In the 13th Election District the proceeds of said
tax shall be paid by the County Commissioners semi-
annually to the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department so
long as it is the only Fire Department in that area. If
any new Fire Departments are organized and recognized
by the Prince George's County Volunteer Firemen's Asso-
ciation and the Board of County Commissioners jointly
the tax shall then be divided equally among existing
companies.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That before any tax
shall be levied under the provisions of this Act, the ques-
tion of such levy shall first be submitted to the legally
qualified voters of the 13th Election District of Prince
George's County on or before the first Monday in Novem-
ber, 1953. There shall be printed on the ballot to be used
at said election the title of this Act and underneath said
title, on separate lines, a square or box to the right of
and opposite the words "For Fire Tax", and a correspond-
ing square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"Against Fire Tax", so that the voters shall be able to
designate by a crossmark in the proper square or box his
or her decision for or against said fire tax. If a majority
of the votes cast in the said election district shall be "For
Fire Tax", then said tax shall be levied and paid over
in accordance with the provisions of this Act, but if a
majority of the votes cast shall be "Against Fire Tax",
