then this Act shall be of no effect and shall be null and
void in that particular election district. The cost of this
referendum is to be paid to the Board of County Com-
missioners by the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 433
(Senate Bill 412)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tions 370 (a) and 370 (b) (7) of Article 1 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Allegany County", sub-title "Juvenile Court", said Sec-
tions having been amended respectively by Chapter 524
of 1949 and by Chapter 353 of the Acts of 1951, increas-
ing the compensation of the Magistrate for Juvenile
Causes and of the Clerk to said Magistrate in Allegany
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 370 (a) and 370 (b) (7) of Article 1 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Allegany County", sub-title "Juvenile Court", said
Sections having been amended respectively by Chapter 524
of 1949 and by Chapter 353 of the Acts of 1951, be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and to read as follows:

370. (a) In addition to the Justices of the Peace here-
inbefore mentioned, there shall be appointed by the Gov-
ernor, by and with the consent of the Senate, and if the
