the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion) THIS SECTION; and continuing on a bearing of
South 71 degrees 19 minutes 11 second West according to
the Maryland State Grid System for a distance of 1,300.0
feet, thence South 18 degrees 40 minutes 49 seconds East
for a distance of 9,100.0 feet, thence North 71 degrees 19
minutes 11 seconds East for a distance of 3,100.0 feet,
thence North 18 degrees 40 minutes 49 seconds West for a
distance of 9,100.0 feet, thence on a bearing of South 71
degrees 19 minutes 11 seconds West for a distance of
1,800.0 feet to the point of beginning; all bearings being on
the Maryland State Grid System.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That before the pro-
visions of this Act shall become effective, The Mayor and
Council of Hampstead shall cause a special election to be
held on a date before January 1, 1954, to be fixed by it.

Not less than fifteen (15) days before said election, the
said The Mayor and Council of Hampstead shall cause a
notice thereof to be published twice in a newspaper pub-
lished in Carroll County, Maryland, and shall post in at
least three (3) public places within the present corporate
limits of the Town of Hampstead and also in at least the
same number of public places within the territory proposed
by this Act to be annexed, a notice of said special election.
Said advertisement and posted notices shall notify the
residents of said territory and of the Town of Hampstead
that there will be held on said day at a place designated
therein at some convenient place in the Town of Hamp-
stead between the hours of seven o'clock A. M. and seven
o'clock P. M., an election to determine whether or not said
town limits should be enlarged as described in this Act.
The said The Mayor and Council of Hampstead shall pro-
vide a polling place, ballot boxes, booths and ballots for
such election, the cost thereof to be paid by the said The
Mayor and Council of Hampstead, which is hereby author-
ized to pay the same. The said ballots shall contain the
words "For Enlarging the Town Limits" on one line and
"Against Enlarging the Town Limits" on another line,
with a square opposite each. Except as otherwise required
by this Act, said election shall be conducted, as nearly as
practicable in the same manner as election for municipal
officers of the Town of Hampstead. The Mayor and
Council of Hampstead shall appoint three (3) Judges and
one (1) Clerk who shall conduct said election. The said
Judges and Clerk before undertaking to perform the duties
of their office, shall subscribe to the same oath as is now
