SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 502)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 704 and 705 of Article 11 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Frederick County", sub-title "Roads", and
to enact a new Section 704 in lieu thereof, relating gen-
erally to the erection of markers, signs, signals and road
names in Frederick County and to the penalty for remov-
ing, damaging, or defacing any such signs.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 704 and 705 of Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Frederick County", sub-title 'Roads^, be and they are
hereby repealed, and that a new Section 704 be and the
same is enacted in lieu thereof, and to read as follows:
704. The Board of County Commissioners of Freder-
ick County shall erect and maintain, out of the receipts of
its office, along the rights-of-way of the County Roads, the
necessary signs, signals, markers, or road names, for the
purpose of directing the traveling public, warning them of
danger, or for any other purpose which in the opinion of
the Roads Board may be right or proper; and any person
who removes, damages or defaces any such signs, signals,
markers or road names shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and fined a sum not less than $25. 00 nor more than
$100. 00; said fines to be paid to the Frederick County
Roads Board for road maintenance purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
