mission shall make recommendations for the improvement
of law enforcement and police protection in Harford County
and particularly shall study and make recommendations to
insure greater cooperation, coordination of efforts and
division of responsibility between the town, city and county
police; to establish an adequate and unified police radio sys-
tem in Harford County; to establish uniform salaries, and
other benefits relating to compensation of law enforcement
officers in Harford County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 473 and 474 of Article 13 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford
County", sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer", as
amended by Chapter 998 of the Acts of 1945 and Chapter
709 of the Acts of 1947, respectively, and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 (k) of Article 25
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurers",
removing from the Code of Public Local Laws provisions
relating to the salary of the Treasurer and Deputy Treas-
urer of Harford County, and amending the Public Gen-
eral Laws to increase and limit the compensation of the
Treasurer of Harford County and requiring the salary
of the Deputy Treasurer to be set by the Treasurer and
the County Commissioners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 473 and 474 of Article 13 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford
County", sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer", as
amended by Chapters 998 of the Acts of 1945 and 709 of
the Acts of 1947, respectively, be and they are hereby re-
pealed.
