(i) The Clerks of the Circuit Courts of Cecil, Harford
and Wicomico Counties shall each be entitled to receive an
annual salary of $5, 000.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953, and shall not apply to the present
incumbent.

(House Bill 440)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 16 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Chan-
cery", sub-title "Infant", said new section to be known
as Section 94A of said Article and to follow immediately
after Section 94 thereof, providing that the provisions
of Sections 76 through 94 of Article 16 relating to
adoption shall be made applicable to Prince George's
County.

WHEREAS, Sections 76 through 94 inclusive of Article 16
relating generally to adoptions in the State of Maryland
were enacted by Chapter 599 of the Acts of 1947; and

WHEREAS, At the time of this enactment Allegany
County, Calvert County, Charles County, Garrett County,
Prince George's County, St. Mary's County, and Wash-
ington County were excluded from the provisions of said
Sections; and

WHEREAS, Considerable doubt and confusion arose over
such exclusion so that it was necessary to re-enact this
exclusion by Chapter 19 of the Acts of 1947 (extraordinary
session); and

WHEREAS, In the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edi-
tion), there still appears confusion as to the seven counties
so excluded and such exclusion is only noted in a foot note;
