within the town are required to again register, and there-
after the old registration lists shall be voided. And whenever
a general registration of voters is held under this section in
any election year, the officers of registration in addition to
sitting as such on the first Monday in April shall sit for
such additional days as are designated by The Mayor and
Commissioners of Westernport, the public notice of regis-
tration so stating.
658. The Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport shall
appoint every election year, at least four days before the
date of the election, three Judges to hold the election. The
said Judges shall keep the polls open from 7 o'clock
a. m. until 7 o'clock p. m. and shall conduct the said election in
the same manner as the Judges of election are now directed
to conduct elections for State and County officials, as far
as may be practicable, after making oath before some
Justice of the Peace for Allegany County that they will only
permit those to vote whose names appear upon the regis-
tration lists of the town as fully qualified voters, and the
said Judges of Election shall make return as to the votes
cast and the persons elected at such election to The Mayor
and Commissioners of Westernport and to the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Allegany County, Maryland, within
twenty-four hours after said election.
659. The Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport
shall give public notice by hand bills posted in public
places in said Town of Westernport of all municipal elec-
tions herein provided to be held, at least twenty days before
the date thereof and thereby also notifying candidates for
office to be voted for at said election to file their application
to be so placed on the Official Ballot with the Clerk of the
Town of Westernport at least five days before the date of
said election. The official ballot which only can be voted
at said election shall be printed and supplied to the judges
of election by The Mayor and Commissioners of Western-
port and shall be printed as nearly as practicable in ac-
cordance with the following form. The names of candi-
dates for each office shall be arranged alphabetically ac-
cording to their surname, under the designation of the
office for which they are candidates. Above the name of
the candidate for each office and upon a separate line im-
mediately underneath the designation of said office there
shall be printed an appropriate direction to the voter in-
forming him of the number of persons for whom he may
lawfully vote for the particular office mentioned immedi-
ately above each said direction, thus "Vote for One" or
