220 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 108

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 40 (c) and (f) of Article 10 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Attor-
neys at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's
Attorney", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(c) The State's Attorney of Calvert [, Charles] and
Howard Counties shall receive an annual salary of $2, 000.

(f) The State's Attorneys of Charles, Harford, St.
Mary's, Talbot and Wicomico Counties shall each receive
an annual salary of $3, 000.

The State's Attorney of St. Mary's County shall be
allowed Six Hundred Dollars ($600. 00) annually for cleri-
cal expenses.

The County Commissioners of Charles County are au-
thorized to appoint an assistant state's attorney and a
secretary to the state's attorney, each to receive a salary of
$1, 800. 00 a year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 108
(House Bill 421)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section
100, Sub-section "Charles County" of Article 52 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Jus-
tice of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrate System",
and add a new sub-section to Section 111 of said Article,
title and sub-title, to be known as Sub-section (e), rais-
ing the salaries of the Trial Magistrate and substitute
Trial Magistrate of Charles County.
