(House Bill 152)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
25 of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Pensions", sub-title "Employees of
Municipal Corporations", specifying the provision applic-
able to certain retired employees of the City of Annap-
olis.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 25 of Article 73B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Pensions", sub-
title "Employees of Municipal Corporations", be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments,
to read as follows:
25. Any employee of a county who is retired and who
is receiving any retirement allowance under the provisions
of this sub-title, where such allowance in the aggregate is
less than $100. 00 per month, shall receive an additional sum
not exceeding $25. 00 per month upon application to the
County Commissioners, and said County Commissioners
shall annually levy an amount sufficient to pay such addi-
tional allowance. Provided, however, that the sum granted
to any applicant by the said County Commissioners shall be
in such amount that when added to whatever sum any
such person is receiving from the Employees Retirement
System of the State of Maryland, the total amount shall
not exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) per month.
This section shall apply only in Anne Arundel County, and
in the City of Annapolis. With respect to an employee of
the City of Annapolis who is retired and is receiving any
retirement allowance under the provisions of this sub-title
and where such allowance in the aggregate is less than $100
per month, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annap-
olis are authorized to pay to such employee [shall receive]
an additional sum not exceeding $25 per month upon appli-
cation to the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis.
