SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary to the preservation of the
public health and safety of the citizens of the territory
hereby to be annexed to the Town of Morningside, and of
the State of Maryland, and three-fifths of the members
of both Houses upon a yea and nay vote having concurred
therein, it is declared to be an emergency Act and as such
to take effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 151)
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Mayor and City
Aldermen of the City of Annapolis to pay certain
monthly pensions to the persons named in this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and City Aldermen of the City
of Annapolis are authorized and directed to pay a monthly
pension to Mr. John Mace, Mr. Edward T. Beavin, and
Mr. Forest B. Harder. The amount of the pension for each
such individual shall be such that, when added to every
other pension or retirement allowance, if any, being paid
to that person for or on behalf of the City of Annapolis,
shall make the aggregate thereof equal the sum of One
Hundred Dollars monthly. It is the meaning and intent
of this Act that each such person shall receive the sum
of One Hundred Dollars monthly by way of pensions and
retirement allowances from and on behalf of the Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
