To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Code of Maryland (1947 Edition)
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at an election which was held on
June 12, 1951, an Act known as Chapter 494 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1951 was submitted to the voters
of the Town of Bowling Green, Allegany County, Maryland,
for their adoption or rejection under the provisions of Chap-
ter 494 of the Acts of 1951, said Act being:

"An Act to provide a special Taxing Area".

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 171 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 494 of the Acts of 1951
and 173 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act;
and a majority being cast against the adoption of the said
Chapter 494 of the Acts of 1951, it has therefore failed of
ratification.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
