(House Bill 623)
AN ACT to amend the Charter of Cambridge by adding a
new section to Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", sub-title "Cambridge", said new section to fol-
low immediately after Section 43 and to be designated
Section 43A of said Article, authorizing and empowering
the Commissioners of Cambridge, by resolution and ordi-
nance, to extend the corporate limits of the Town of
Cambridge within the area specified.
WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Cambridge have deter-
mined that it is now desirable and in the public interest
that the corporate boundaries of the City of Cambridge be
extended; now, therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Charter of Cambridge be amended by
adding a new section to Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", sub-title "Cambridge", said new section to follow
immediately after Section 43 and to be designated Section
43A of said Article, and to read as follows:
43A. (a) The Commissioners of Cambridge are hereby
authorized and empowered, from time to time and within
their discretion, to enact an ordinance or ordinances ex-
tending the boundaries of the corporate limits of the City
of Cambridge so as to include within such corporate limits
the land and property, or any part thereof, contained and
embraced within the following metes and bounds:
(b) Beginning for the westward limit at a point in the
center of Choptank River which center line is the division
line between Talbot County and Dorchester County. The
above point is also the center line of Queen Anne Avenue
extended in a northeasterly direction until it intersects
the above county line. Thence proceeding in a southwest-
erly direction along the said center line of Queen Anne
