Section 663 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title
"Oysters and Clams", said new sub-section to be known as
Sub-section (e) of said section, to follow immediately after
Sub-section (d) thereof, and AND THAT SUB-SECTION
(M) OF SECTION 665 BE AND IS HEREBY RE-
PEALED AND RE-ENACTED, WITH AMENDMENTS,
ALL to read as follows:
663.
(e) It shall be unlawful to take or catch hard shell
clams (Venus mercenaria) with any hydraulic dredge or
mechanical dredge of any kind, provided, however, that this
Act shall not apply on leased lands or in the Atlantic Ocean.
665.
(m) (Clams. ) Any person violating the provisions of
Section 663 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof be fined Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00)
or stand committed to the County Jail in which such viola-
tion occurred until said fine is paid. Provided, however,
that any person violating the provisions of Sub-section (e)
of Section 663 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject
to the penalties provided for the violations of Section 665.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
effect June 1, 1953.

section (c) of Section 38 of Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-
title "Compensation and Duties", increasing RELAT-
ING TO the annual salary of the Sheriff of Baltimore
County.
