and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 797)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments, " to be known as Section 23A, under the
new sub-title "Boating, " and to follow immediately after
Section 23 thereof, making it unlawful to operate a boat
on Seneca Creek faster than 6 knots per hour, or in a
reckless manner, or in a manner that may endanger per-
sons, or property or watercraft.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 23A be and it is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments, " to follow im-
mediately after Section 23 thereof, and to be under the
new sub-title "Boating, " and to read as follows:
BOATING
23A. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
any boat on Seneca Creek, Montgomery County, at a speed
greater than six (6) knots per hour, or in a reckless man-
ner, or in such manner that may endanger the person or
property of others, or to come into any wharf or bathing
shore in a reckless manner or in a manner that may en-
danger persons or property or watercraft.
(b) Any person violating the provisions of this section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction fined not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00)
nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00), or im-
