feet to the said East side of the Indian Head Naval Reser-
vation Access Road, thence running with the said side of
said road approximately 1325 feet to the point of begin-
ning. Including all of the sub-division known as Section
8, "Forest Heights", as per plats thereof recorded among
the Land Records of Prince George's County, Maryland,
in Plat Books W. W. W. 21, Folio 32 and Plat Book W. W. W.
20, Folio 95, part of the First Parcel and all of the Second
Parcel above referred to and such other land sub-divided
or not sub-divided as comes within the above defined area.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the boundaries
of the said Town shall not be extended, however, until the
issue is submitted to the legally qualified voters of the
Town of Forest Heights at a referendum election to be
held on such date as the Mayor and Town Council shall
provide. There shall be printed on the ballot to be used
at said election the title of this Act and underneath said
title, on separate lines, a square or box to the right of and
opposite the words "For Annexation", and a correspond-
ing square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"Against Annexation", so that the voters shall be able to
designate by a cross-mark in the proper square or box
their decision for and against said extension. If a ma-
jority of the votes cast in said election shall be "For An-
nexation", then said boundaries shall be extended in
accordance with the provisions of this Act, but if a ma-
jority of the votes cast shall be "Against Extension of
Boundaries", then this Act shall be of no effect and shall
be null and void. THE INTENTION OF THIS PRO-
VISION IS TO PERMIT THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF
THE TOWN OF FOREST HEIGHTS TO DETERMINE
WHETHER AN UNDEVELOPED AREA SHOULD BE
ANNEXED TO SAID TOWN IN VIEW OF THE
STATED INTENTION OF THE OWNERS OF THE
PROPERTY TO BE ANNEXED OF THEIR DESIRE
THAT THIS ANNEXATION SHOULD TAKE PLACE.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That if this Act is
adopted under the referendum above provided for, then
the parcels of land described herein shall be annexed to
the Town of Forest Heights and all persons and property
residing or situated in such parcels of land will be subject
to all taxes and assessments, laws and regulations of the
Town of Forest Heights from the date of such annexation.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and neces-
