AN ACT to repeal Sections 234 to 252, inclusive, of
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-
title "Roads", to repeal Section 241A of said Article
as said section was enacted by Chapter 300 of the Acts
of 1941, and to add seventeen new sections to said Article,
said new sections to be known as Sections 234 to 250,
inclusive, to follow immediately after Section 233 of
said Article, creating a County Roads Board, providing
its authority, duties, responsibilities, compensations and
expenses and the duties, responsibilities, compensations
and expenses of its employees, the time when it begins
operations, the manner of receiving and expending funds
and handling surpluses, its authority to borrow money,
to purchase or rent equipment, land and buildings,
setting up retirement provisions, giving County Com-
missioners authority over same until County Roads
Board begins operation, authorizing County Commis-
sioners to levy annually for public roads, etc. and ear-
mark the funds, to purchase from State Roads Com-
mission equipment, borrow money for the purpose and
submit the price thereof for arbitration, to create sur-
pluses out of revenues received, to invest unexpended
revenues in United States Government Bonds.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 234 to 252, inclusive, of Article
23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Roads", Sec-
tion 241A of said Article having been enacted by Chapter
200 of the Acts of 1941, be and they are hereby repealed
and that seventeen (17) new sections are hereby enacted
in lieu thereof to be known as Sections 234 to 250, in-
clusive, of said Article, to follow immediately after Section
233 of said Article and to read as follows:
234. A County Roads Board for Wicomico County is
hereby created, and the Board of County Commissioners of
Wicomico County is hereby constituted said County Roads
