to vote for said candidate and said petition of any candi-
date for Ward Councilman shall bear not less than 25
signatures of persons qualified to vote for said candidate.
The Board of Supervisors of Elections shall cause to be
given general publicity the names of such eligible candi-
dates with the names of the offices they seek, and shall
post all of such names and offices conspicuously at the
polls. No person shall sign a petition for more than one
candidate for each office to be filled.

Election of Mayor and the Councilmen:

341-37. On the first Tuesday in May in the odd num-
bered years the qualified voters of the city shall elect one
person as Mayor and one Councilman at large and four per-
sons as Ward Councilmen, one from each Ward of said city,
to serve for terms of two years.

Conduct of Elections:

341-38. It shall be the duty of the Board of Supervisors
of Elections to provide for each special and general elec-
tion a suitable place or places for voting and suitable ballot
boxes and ballots and/or voting machines. The ballots
and/or voting machines shall show the name of each candi-
date nominated for elective office in accordance with the
provisions of this charter. Elections shall be non-partisan
and there shall be no indication of party affiliations of
candidates on the ballots and/or voting machines. The
Board of Supervisors of Elections shall keep the polls open
from 7: 00 A. M. to 7: 00 P. M. on election days or for longer
hours if the Council deems it necessary and so provide by
ordinance.

Special Elections:

341-39. All special city elections shall be conducted by
the Board of Supervisors of Elections in the same manner
as regular city elections.


ARTICLE VI

FINANCE
City Clerk-Treasurer:

341-40. There shall be appointed by a majority vote of
the Mayor and Council, at their first regular meeting after
each election, or as soon thereafter as possible, a City
Clerk-Treasurer, who may at the pleasure of a majority
