the land lying within the above metes and bounds shall be
regarded as contiguous, so that if gaps or islands should
be found between any of them as a result of re-surveys or
surveyors' mistakes or inaccuracies, such gaps and islands
shall be part of the incorporated area.
341-3. The City of Glen Burnie shall be divided into four
wards for election purposes as follows:
Ward 1: The First Ward shall embrace all that part of
the city lying east of the center line of Light Street Road
and south of the center line of Old Annapolis Road.
Ward 2: The Second Ward shall embrace all that part
of the city lying west of the center line of Light Street Road
and south of the center line of Central Avenue.
Ward 3: The Third Ward shall embrace all of that part
of the city lying north of the center line of Central Avenue
and west of the center line of Light Street Road.
Ward 4: The Fourth Ward shall embrace all that part
of the city lying east of the center line of Light Street Road
and north of the center line of Old Annapolis Road.
ARTICLE II
THE COUNCIL
Number, Selection, Term
341-4. All legislative powers of the city shall be vested
in a Council consisting of one Councilman at large and four
Ward Councilmen who shall be elected as hereinafter pro-
vided and who shall hold office for a term of two years or
until the succeeding Council takes office. The regular term
of Councilmen shall expire on the second Monday following
the election of their successors.
Qualifications of Councilmen:
341-5. A Councilman shall be not less than thirty years of
age, a citizen of the United States, a registered voter in
Glen Burnie, and be assessed upon the assessment books
of said city for improved real estate in said city and shall
have been an actual dweller within the limits of said city
for not less than two years next preceding the date of his
election. Each Ward Councilman shall be elected from the
Ward in which he resides and by the qualified votes thereof.
Each Councilman shall retain throughout his term of office
all the qualifications necessary for his election. A failure
