CHAPTER 712
(House Bill 618)

AN ACT to repeal Section 455 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Road", and to enact in lieu thereof a new section to be
known as Section 455, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 454 of said Code, authorizing the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County to regulate vehicular
parking, traffic, AND speedy and weight limits.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 455 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Roads", be and it is hereby repealed, and that a new sec-
tion to be known as Section 455, to follow immediately
after Section 454 of said Code be and it is hereby enacted
in lieu thereof and all to read as follows:

455. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County, with respect to streets, highways, bridges and
property under their jurisdiction and within the reasonable
exercise of police power, are hereby authorized and em-
powered to:

(1) Regulate the standing or parking of vehicles.

(2) Regulate traffic by means of police officers or traffic
control devices.

(3) Regulate or prohibit processions or assemblies on
the highways.

(3) Designate particular streets or highways as one-way
highways and require that all vehicles thereon be moved
in one specific direction.

(4) Regulate the speed and weight of vehicles.

(5) Designate any intersection as a stop intersection
and require all vehicles to stop at one or more entrances to
such intersections.
