tion 237B, and to follow immediately after Section 237A,
authorizing the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County to lease property.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County
(1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", said new section to be
known as Section 237B, and to follow immediately after
Section 237A, and to read as follows:
237B. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are hereby authorized and empowered to lease any
real property, together with improvements, belonging to
the county which they deem no longer needed for the
public use. Said property, together with improvements
thereon, shall be leased in such manner, at such prices and
upon such terms as the County Commissioners may de-
termine. AN ADVERTISEMENT THAT SUCH PROP-
ERTY IS TO BE LEASED SHALL BE INSERTED
EACH DAY FOR TEN (10) DAYS IN A NEWSPAPER
OF GENERAL CIRCULATION IN ANNE ARUNDEL
COUNTY AND AN APPROPRIATE, LEGIBLE SIGN
ADVISING THAT SUCH PROPERTY IS TO BE
LEASED SHALL BE DISPLAYED ON SUCH PROPER-
TY FOR TEN (10) DAYS. ANY LEASE OF SUCH PROP-
ERTY SHALL BE AWARDED AT AN OPEN, PUBLIC
MEETING OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO
THE HIGHEST BIDDER FOR SUCH LEASE, PRO-
VIDED THAT THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY
REJECT ALL BIDS THEREON. The President of the
Board of County Commissioners is authorized to sign all
leases for property leased by the county and to annex or
cause to be annexed thereto the seal of the County Com-
sioners.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
