and they are hereby added to said Code, said new sections
to be known as Section 445, to follow immediately after
Section 444, and Sections 469A to 469D, inclusive, to follow
immediately after Section 469, and all to read as follows:

438. In the year eighteen hundred and seventy-five and
every fourth year thereafter at the general election for
members of the House of Delegates, there shall be elected
a Treasurer for Prince George's County by the qualified
voters of said county, who shall hold his office for four
years and until a successor shall be elected and qualified;
and be subject, at all times, to be removed for wilful neg-
lect of duty or misdemeanor in office, upon conviction in a
court of law. His official title shall be "Treasurer of
Prince George's County. " The Treasurer shall be eligible
for re-election.

445. The Treasurer shall be entitled to appoint such
clerk or clerks as he may deem necessary, and for whose of-
ficial conduct he shall be responsible; said clerk or clerks
to be paid by the County Commissioners.

The Treasurer shall be entitled to appoint a secretary to
assist him in the discharge of his official duties, and said
secretary shall receive in full compensation for the dis-
charge of his or her official duties the sum of not less than
Three Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($3, 800. 00) per
year which shall be payable semi-monthly. Said secretary
shall be responsible only to the Treasurer and shall not be
governed by or included in any County personnel laws or
County Merit System now existing or hereafter enacted.

455. The Treasurer of Prince George's County shall re-
ceive in full compensation for the discharge of his official
duties as collector of taxes levied for State and county pur-
poses the sum of [five] Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dol-
lars [($5, 000. 00)] ($7, 500. 00) for each year of his term of
office, which shall be payable semi-monthly [; and shall
receive no other compensation for the collection of any
taxes whether State, county, municipal, Park and Planning
Commission or Washington Suburban Sanitary Commis-
sion], provided that there shall be no change in his salary
received by the Treasurer of Prince George's County until
April 1, 1955. The Treasurer of Prince George's County
shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the transaction
of his official duties, provided that the amount of such re-
imbursement shall not exceed the amount of Two Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($2, 500. 00) in any one year.
