SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 693
(House Bill 474)

AN ACT to repeal Section 439 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Prince George's County, " sub-title "County
Treasurer, " and Section 445 of said Code, as said sec-
tion was amended by Chapters 821 and 1070 of the Acts
of 1945; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 438 of said Code and Section 455 of said Code, as
said section was amended by Chapter 821 of the Acts
of 1945, and Section 456 of said Code; and to add five
new sections to said Code, said new sections to be known
as Section 445, to follow immediately after Section 444
of said Code, and Sections 469A to 469D, inclusive, to
follow immediately after Section 469 of said Code, re-
lating to the salary of the Treasurer of Prince George's
County, establishing a Department of Finance of Prince
George's County, and relating generally to the duties,
powers and compensation of said Treasurer and said
Department of Finance.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 439 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Prince George's County, " sub-title "County Treas-
urer, " and Section 445 of said Code, as said section was
amended by Chapters 821 and 1070 of the Acts of 1945,
be and they are hereby repealed and that Section 438 of
said Code and Section 445 of said Code, as said section was
amended by Chapter 821 of the Acts of 1945, and Section
456 of said Code, be and they are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and that five new sections be
