(a) Nothing contained in Sections 578 and 605 of this
Article shall be construed to prohibit or make unlawful the
exhibition of motion pictures after 1 P. M. on Sunday in the
First and Third Election [District] Districts of Anne
Arundel County, whether the same be exhibited with or
without a charge or admission fee. The work or employ-
ment of any operator, ticket seller or other employee or
attendant in connection with such exhibition, shall not be
unlawful because performed on Sunday.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 692
(House Bill 454)
AN ACT to repeal and reenact, with amendments, sub-sec-
tion (g) of Section 539 of the Charter and Public Local
Laws of Baltimore City (Flack, 1949), title "Police Com-
missioner", sub-title "Appointment and Promotion", so
as to require periodic physical examinations for all mem-
bers of the Police Department once every three years
rather than once every year.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sub-section (g) of Section 539 of the
Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (Flack,
1949), title "Police Commissioner", sub-title "Appoint-
ment and Promotion", be and the same is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(g) under the direction of the Police Commissioner, to
make provision for and to supervise regular periodical
physical examinations of all members of the Police Depart-
ment. Such examinations shall be given not less than once
[each year] every three years.
