amendment. Such notice may be given by mail or by post-
ing of the notice on or in the vicinity of the properties in-
volved in the proposal or both.
For the purposes of this section, the word "amend" or
"amendment" shall be deemed to include any modification
of the text or phraseology of a regulation or of any pro-
vision of the regulations or any repeal or elimination of
any regulation or part thereof or any addition to the regu-
lations or any new regulation or any change in the num-
ber, shape, boundary or area of the districts or of any
district or any repeal or abolition of any map or any part
thereof or any addition to any map or any new map or any
other change in the map or maps; and for the purpose of
this and other sections of this sub-title the words "regu-
late", "regulation" or "regulations" shall be deemed to in-
clude "restrict", "restrictions", "limit", "limitations", "pro-
hibit" and "prohibitions".
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(House Bill 449)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section (a) of Section 599 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath Breaking", providing
that it shall be lawful to exhibit motion pictures in the
Third Election District of Anne Arundel County after
1 P. M. on Sundays.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sub-section (a) of Section 599 of Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath Breaking",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
