2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "County Dispen-
saries", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and that Section 156 (a-1) be and it is
hereby added to said Article and sub-title, said new section
to stand immediately after Section 156 (a) thereof, and
all to read as follows:
150.
(c) (Appointment. ) The members of the respective
Boards shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice
and consent of the Senate. Provided, that in Somerset
County they shall be appointed by the Governor. In Har-
ford and Queen Anne's Counties they shall be appointed
by the respective boards of County commissioners. In
Caroline County the County Commissioners shall be ex
officio the members of the Liquor Control Board. In Kent
County the County Commissioners shall be ex officio the
members of the Liquor Control Board. In Harford County
said Board shall also be known as the Board of License
Commissioners of Harford County, upon which shall be
devolved all the duties and rights given elsewhere in this
Article. In Montgomery County the Director of the De-
partment of Liquor Control shall be appointed and
removed by the County Manager with the approval of the
County Council.
(h) (Compensation. ) Members of the several Boards
shall receive compensation as follows:
(1) Caroline County—Three Hundred Dollars per annum.
[(1)] (2) Harford County—Nine Hundred Dollars per
annum, one-half of said salaries to be paid from the gross
proceeds derived from the operation of county dispensaries.
[(2)] (3) Kent County—No additional compensation.
[(3)] (4) Montgomery County—The salary of the
Director of the Department of Liquor Control shall be
fixed by the County Manager with the approval of the
County Council.
[(4)] (5) Queen Anne's County—Five Dollars per day
for every day devoted to the duties of the Board, but not
exceeding Three Hundred Dollars per annum, and in addi-
tion thereto a salary of Two Hundred Dollars per annum
for the Chairman of the Board.
[(5)] (6) Somerset County—Five Hundred Dollars per
annum.
