GANY COUNTY SHALL PAY THE ANNUAL MEM-
BERSHIP DUES IN THE STATE TRIAL MAGIS-
TRATES' ASSOCIATION FOR EACH TRIAL MAGIS-
TRATE OF ALLEGANY COUNTY WHO BECOMES A
MEMBER THEREOF, TOGETHER WITH MILEAGE
AT THE RATE OF FIVE CENTS (56) PER MILE BY
THE NEAREST ROUTE TO AND FROM THE HOME
OF EACH TRIAL MAGISTRATE AND THE PLACE
WHERE THE MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION IS
HELD.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tions 55 (c) and 56 (b) of the Charter of the City of
Cumberland (1950 Edition), being Article 1A of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of
Cumberland", sub-title "Civil Service—Police and Fire",
relating to the leaves of absence with pay for the Police
Force and the Fire Department in the City of Cumber-
land.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 55 (c) and 56 (b) of the Charter of the
City of Cumberland (1950 Edition), being Article 1A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of
Cumberland", sub-title "Civil Service—Police and Fire",
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
55.
(c) Each member of the Police Force shall be granted
an annual vacation or leave of absence of not less than
fifteen WORKING days with pay after one year of service,
and said vacation or leave of absence may be taken with
the approval of the Chief of Police in such manner and at
