AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
107 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title
"Trial Magistrates System", directing the County Com-
missioners of Allegany County to provide courtrooms
and other facilities for the Trial Magistrates of Alle-
gany County. AND RELATING TO THE MEMBER-
SHIP AND ATTENDANCE OF SAID TRIAL MAG-
ISTRATES IN THE STATE TRIAL MAGISTRATES'
ASSOCIATION.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 107 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace",
sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
107. (Trial Rooms. ) (a) The County Commissioners
of each county shall provide and furnish suitable quarters
for the sessions of the Trial Magistrates. They shall also
provide for said Magistrates the dockets and stationery
required for the proper performance of their duties, except
the dockets and report forms to be furnished by the Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles as herein provided.
(b) The County Commissioners of Allegany County, in
addition to the aforegoing, are hereby directed, author-
ized and empowered to provide and furnish suitable and
respectable courtrooms or quarters for the sessions of all
Trial Magistrates, including the Juvenile Magistrate, in
Allegany County. Said County Commissioners shall equip
and provide each such Court with a desk, necessary chairs,
filing cabinets, indexes and forms, stationery (including
postage stamps), adequate lighting facilities, telephone
service and other necessary office supplies, for the con-
duct and functioning of said Court. Said County Com-
missioners shall provide in the City of Cumberland two
courtrooms, a Clerk's office and a waiting room, said quar-
ters to be furnished in keeping with courtrooms generally.
