sub-section (i) of said Section and to follow immediately
after sub-section (h) thereof, providing that vehicles
NOT DESIGNED FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF
PASSENGERS of a gross weight of 7, 500 pounds shall
operate at a maximum speed of ten miles per hour less
than vehicles of a gross weight less than 7, 500 pounds
in certain areas and zones.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That be and there is added a new sub-section to Section
176 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Opera-
tion of Vehicles upon Highways", said new sub-section to
be known as sub-section (i) of said Section and to follow
immediately after sub-section (h) thereof, and to read as
follows:
176.
(i) Every COMMERCIAL motor vehicle NOT DE-
SIGNED FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF PASSEN-
GERS of a gross weight of seven thousand five hundred
pounds (7, 500) or more shall operate at a speed of ten
miles per hour less than the lawful speed permitted for
motor vehicles of a gross weight less than seven thou-
sand five hundred pounds (7, 500), provided, however,
that the provisions of this sub-section shall not apply
ONLY in areas or zones where the maximum lawful speed
of any motor vehicle is less GREATER than thirty-FIVE
(30 5) miles per hour.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
