County shall receive an appropriation of $500, to be used
for special work and the employment of extra help, said
funds to be spent only with the approval of the Judge of
the Circuit Court of Cecil County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
sections (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j), (k),
(1), (m), and (n) of Section 153 of Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title 'Tub-
lie Education", sub-title "Chapter 11. County Superin-
tendent of Schools", providing for the appointment of
supervising teachers, supervisors of pupil personnel, and
visiting teachers and providing for the minimum sched-
ules of salaries to be paid to such personnel in this State
for the school year 1955-56 and thereafter and provid-
ing also for the minimum salaries payable to such per-
sonnel in this State during the school years 1953-54 and
1954-55.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That during the school years 1953-54 and 1954-55, being
respectively in the State fiscal years ending on June 30,
1954, and June 30, 1955, subject to the other provisions
of this Act and notwithstanding anything to the contrary
in Paragraph (b) of Section 153 of Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition as amended),
(a) every full-time supervising teacher or supervisor of
pupil personnel I holding a bachelor's degree shall be paid
an annual salary of not less than the amount specified in
the following scale for the year of teaching and supervis-
ing service applicable to him or her and subject to the
