1110 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 598

"Crimes and Punishments", said new sections to be
known as Sections 375A-375G, inclusive, under the new
sub-title "Health—Dangerous Drugs", and to follow
immediately after Section 375 of said Article, regulating
the sale of certain drugs and providing for penalties
for violation thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That seven new sections be and it is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", said new sec-
tions to be known as Sections 375A-375G, inclusive, under
the new sub-title ''Health—Dangerous Drugs", and to fol-
low immediately after Section 375 of said Article, and to
read as follows:

Health—Dangerous Drugs

375A. The term "Dangerous Drugs" within the mean-
ing of this sub-title shall mean and include any drug
intended for use by man which, because of its toxicity or
other potentiality for harmful effect, or the method of its
use, or the collateral measures necessary for its use, is
not safe for use except under the supervision of a practi-
tioner licensed by law to administer such drugs.

375B. Any drug which bears a cautionary label warn-
ing against dispensing without a prescription shall be dis-
pensed only

(a) upon the written prescription of a practitioner
licensed by law to administer such drugs, or

(b) upon the oral prescription of such practitioner,
which shall be reduced to writing and filed by the phar-
macist, or

(c) by refilling any such written or oral prescription
if such refilling is authorized by the prescriber, either in
the original prescription or by oral direction. Such authori-
zation must be reduced to writing and filed by the phar-
macist.

375C. Any dangerous drug dispensed by filling or
refilling a written or oral prescription of a practitioner
licensed by law to administer such drugs shall bear a label
containing the name and address of the dispenser, the
serial number and date of the prescription, the name of
the prescriber, and, if stated in the prescription, the name
and address of the patient, and the directions for use as
contained in the written or oral prescription.
