days notice. If any member of a county board shall be
removed, the State Superintendent of Schools shall file
in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the
County for which the member was appointed, if the mem-
ber so requests, a complete statement of all charges made
against such member, and his findings thereon, together
with a complete record of the proceedings. Vacancies on
any of the county boards for any cause shall be filled by
the Governor for the unexpired term, and until a successor
shall qualify. Any member of a county board shall be
eligible for reappointment, unless otherwise disqualified by
the provisions of this section.
12A. The Governor shall appoint a County Board of
Education in St. Mary's County, to be composed of five
persons of whom at least two shall be members of that
political party which polls the second highest number of
votes in the most recent gubernatorial election in the
State. The terms of office of those persons who comprise
the present Board of Education shall first expire before
any appointments shall be made under the provisions of
this section to fill said respective terms of office. The
terms of office of the members to be appointed by the
Governor as of June 1, 1953, under the provisions of this
section shall correspondingly be designated so that the
several members of the Board of Education, as comprised
on June 1, 1953, shall have terms of one, two, three, four,
. and five years, respectively, as of the first Monday in May
of each year, one person to fill the vacancy of the member
whose term is then expiring. Except as in this section
specified, the provisions of Section 6 of this Article shall
continue to apply to the Board of Education of St. Mary's
County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
