be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and to read as follows:

100. At the general election of county officers of Alle-
gany County, to be held in said county, November, [1950]
1954, and every four years thereafter, a clerk to the Board
of County Commissioners shall be elected by the qualified
voters of said county, who shall hold the office of clerk for
the term of four years from the time of his election and
qualification or until his successor is elected and qualified
and who shall be subject to removal from said office upon
conviction in a court of law of wilful neglect of duty or
malfeasance in office; said Clerk shall be paid for his serv-
ices not less than [twenty-four hundred] Three Thousand
Dollars [($2, 400. 00)3 ($3, 000. 00) TWENTY-SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2, 700. 00) per annum, payable in
equal sums [of two hundred dollars] at the expiration of
each and every month, by the Treasurer of Allegany
County, from the funds of said county; and said clerk, be-
fore entering upon the discharge of his duties, shall give
bond to the County Commissioners of Allegany County in
the sum of Five Thousand Dollars for the faithful dis-
charge of his duties.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(House Bill 906)

AN ACT to repeal Sub-section (h) of Section 24 of Article
17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Clerks of Court", sub-title "General Duties of
Clerks", and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sub-section (j) of said section, relating to the annual
salary of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Allegany
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sub-section (h) of Section 24 of Article 17
