papers before the day of election. The said Board shall
furnish for and at the expense of the City a number of
paper ballots equal to twice the number of registered voters
in said City [. ] when paper ballots are used. The Board
of Election Supervisors is authorized to use voting ma-
chines in any primary, special or general election, and when
said voting machines are used, the said Board shall follow
the same procedure as that prescribed for paper ballots.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section (c) of Section 4 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Elections", sub-
title "Election Officials", increasing the compensation of
certain employees of the Supervisors of Elections of
Montgomery County and providing that the Chief Clerk
and Assistant Chief Clerk to said Supervisors shall con-
stitute the Board of Registry.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sub-section (c) of Section 4 of Article 33
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Elections", sub-title "Election Officials", be and it is here-
by repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

(c) The Supervisors of Elections of Montgomery County
may employ any member of the Bar of the Court of Ap-
peals of the State of Maryland, resident in Montgomery
County, who shall be paid for his services the sum of
$1, 200 per annum, and shall also employ and appoint a
