1054 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 561

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 561
(House Bill 809)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 280 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
County (1942 Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Harford County, " sub-title "Havre de Grace, " making
provisions for the use of voting machines within the
Town of Havre de Grace.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 280 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Harford County (1942 Edition), being Article 13
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Harford County, " sub-title "Havre de
Grace, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

280. The form and arrangement of the official ballot
or the ballot as placed on a voting machine shall be the
same as is now or may hereafter be provided by law for
State and County Elections, except there shall be no party
name or designation on said ballot [Said ballots] when
paper ballots are used, they
shall be of uniform size and
printed upon plain white opaque paper in black ink, in
clear, legible and uniform type. The Board of Election
Supervisors shall at least four days prior to the day of
election cause an accurate sample copy of the official
paper ballot to be posted in four or more public places
in the City, said sample copies to be printed on cardboard,
and at least one of said sample copies shall be placed on the
exterior of the building in which the election is to be held.
And the said Board shall publish an accurate copy of the
official paper ballot in two newspapers of the City, if so
