Law of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-
title "Laurel", as said section was enacted by Chapter
6 of the Acts of the Special Session of the General
Assembly of July 27, 1950, and as repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, by Chapter 248 of the Acts
of the General Assembly at its regular session in the
year 1951, authorizing the Mayor and City Council of
Laurel to issue bonds not exceeding Eight Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($800, 000. 00); providing for the pay-
ment for said bonds from special assessments upon the
property benefited, and from taxes upon property within
the "Fairlawn" District; exempting property within said
"Fairlawn" District from taxation for debt service on
bonds issued by the Town of Laurel prior to the issuance
of any bonds under said Chapter 6 of the Acts of the
Special Session of the General Assembly of July 27,
1950; permitting funds derived from the sale of said
bonds to be expended for storm water drains, along with
other public improvements; and providing certain de-
tails with respect to assessment.
WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council of the Town of
Laurel are authorized by Section 852B of Article 17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Laurel", as said section was
enacted by Chapter 6 of the Acts of the Special Session
of the General Assembly of July 27, 1950, and as said
section has been repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, by Chapter 248 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland at its Regular Session in the year 1951, to
issue a total of Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700, -
000. 00) of bonds for the purpose of constructing, oper-
ating and maintaining improvements and municipal func-
tions in the "Fairlawn" District of the Town of Laurel; and
WHEREAS, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500, -
000. 00) of bonds have been issued by the Mayor and City
Council of Laurel under the authority of the above-men-
tioned section of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, thus
leaving a total of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200, -
000. 00) of bonds which may yet be issued under said
authority; and
WHEREAS, It is deemed to be to the best interests of the
Town of Laurel to raise the total amount of bonds which
may be issued under the authority of this section of the
Public Local Laws as now amended and as heretofore ex-
isting, to Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($800, 000. 00),
