(e-a) The State's Attorney of Howard County shall re-
ceive an annual salary of $2, 600.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 533
(House Bill 653)

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 30 of Article
66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Administration—Regis-
tration—Titling", said new sub-section to be known as
Sub-section (e) of said section, to follow immediately
after Sub-section d) of said section, providing that the
Department of Motor Vehicles may issue special registra-
tion plates for motor vehicles upon request and payment
of an additional fee to an applicant who has not been
convicted of any violation of the law involving a motor
vehicle actually in motion within a certain period.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby
added to Section 30 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
title "Administration — Registration — Titling", said new
sub-section to be known as Sub-section (e) of said section,
to follow immediately after Sub-section (d) of said sec-
tion and to read as follows:

30.

(e) The Department may, upon the payment of a fee of
Twenty five Dollars ($25. 00)
FIFTEEN DOLLARS
($15. 00), which shall be in addition to and not in substi-
tution of the fees required by this Article, issue to any
applicant registration plates upon which shall be displayed
any combination of letters and/or numerals requested by
the applicant and approved by the Department. Provided,
