To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OP
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
election held in the Town of La Plata, Charles County,
Maryland, on Tuesday, July 7,1953, an Act known as Chap-
ter 727 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1953 was submitted to the voters of the Town of La Plata,
Charles County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection
under the provisions of Chapter 727 of the Acts of 1953,
said Act being:

"An Act to authorize the Town of La Plata to borrow
up to $500,000 for a sewerage treatment plant and
sewerage system".

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 72 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 727 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1953 and 67 votes were cast
against the adoption of the said Act, and a majority of the
votes being cast for the adoption of the said Act, the same
has, therefore, been ratified by the voters of the Town of
La Plata, Charles County, Maryland.
