To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OP
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
Election held in the town of Charlestown, Cecil County,
Maryland, on Monday, June 22, 1953, an Act known as
Chapter 706 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1953, was submitted to the voters of the Town of
Charlestown, Cecil County, Maryland, for their adoption
or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 706 of the
Acts of 1953, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to amend Sec. 81 of Art. 8 of the Code, vali-
dating and confirming the ownership of certain land
abutting on the lines of the revised streets and blocks
in the Town of Charlestown".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 172 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 706 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1953, and 46 votes were cast
against the adoption of the said Act, and a majority of the
votes being cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 706
of the Acts of 1953, the same has, therefore, been ratified
by the voters of the Town of Charlestown, Cecil County,
Maryland.
