To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Code of Maryland (1951 Edition)
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Election on Refer-
endum held in the Town of College Park, Prince George's
County, Maryland, on May 4,1953, an Act known as Chapter
446 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1953
was submitted to the voters of the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth
Districts of the Town of College Park, for their adoption or
rejection, under the provision of Chapter 446 of the Acts
of 1953, said Act being:

"An Act to provide a Special Fire Department and Com-
munity Center Assessment, for the Fourth, Fifth and
Sixth Districts of College Park."

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 244 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 446 of the Acts of
1953 and 288 votes were cast against the adoption of the
said Act; and a majority being cast against the adoption of
said Chapter 446 of the Acts of 1953, the said Act has failed
of ratification.
