To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
Election held in the Town of Laurel, Prince George's County,
Maryland, Monday, October 19, 1953, an Act known as
Chapter 393 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, of 1953 was submitted to the voters of the Town of
Laurel, Prince George's County, Maryland, for their adop-
tion or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 393 of the
Acts of 1953, said Act being as follows:

"An Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council to
borrow up to $150,000 for the erection and equipping
of an incinerator plant".

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 342 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 393 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1953 and 191 votes were cast
against the adoption of the said Act, and a majority of the
votes being cast in favor of the adoption of the Act, the same
has, therefore, been ratified by the voters of the Town of
Laurel, Prince George's County.
