To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
Election held in the Town of Laurel, Prince George's County,
Maryland, Monday, October 19, 1953, an Act known as
Chapter 394, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1953, was submitted to the voters of the Town of
Laurel, Prince George's County, Maryland, for their adop-
tion or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 394 of the
Acts of 1953, said Act being as follows:

"An Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council of
Laurel to borrow up to $400,000 for the erection and
equipping of a sewerage treatment and disposal
plant".

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 440 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 394 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1953 and 105 votes were cast against
the adoption of the said Act, and a majority ,of the votes
being cast in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 394 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1953, the same has,
therefore, been ratified by the voters of the Town of Laurel,
Prince George's County.
