To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
Election held in the Town of Hampstead, Carroll County,
Maryland, on Tuesday, November 3, 1953, an Act known as
Chapter 377 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1953, was submitted to the voters of the Town of
Hampstead, Carroll County, Maryland, for their adoption or
rejection under the provisions of Chapter 377 of the Acts of
1953, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to amend Section 64 of Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, enlarging the corporate limits of
the Town of Hampstead".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 249 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 377 of the Acts of
1953 and 253 votes were eajst against the adoption of the
said Act, and a majority of the votes being cast against the
adoption of Chapter 377, the same has, therefore, failed of
ratification by the voters of the Town of Hampstead.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
