To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
election held in the Town of Union Bridge, Carroll County,
Maryland, on September 1, 1953, an Act known as Chapter
307 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1953
was submitted to the voters of the Town of Union Bridge,
Carroll County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection
under the provisions of Chapter 307 of the Acts of 1953,
said Act being:
"An Act to authorize the Mayor and Common Council of
Union Bridge to construct, establish, and maintain a
sewerage system and a sewerage treatment plant".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 80 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 307 of the Acts of 1953
and 222 votes were cast against the adoption of the said Act,
and a majority of the votes being cast against the adoption
of said Chapter 307 of the Acts of 1953, the said Act has,
therefore, been rejected by the voters of the Town of Union
Bridge and has failed of ratification.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
