To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
election held in the Town of Chestertown, Kent County,
Maryland, on Wednesday, May 5, 1953, an Act known as
Chapter 298 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1953 was submitted to the voters of the Town of
Chestertown, Kent County, Maryland, for their adoption or
rejection under the provisions of Chapter 298 of the Acts of
1953, said Act being:
"An Act to authorized the Mayor and Council of Ches-
tertown to borrow up to $100,000 for the improve-
ment of the water system".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 55 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 298 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1953 and no votes were cast against the
adoption of the said Act, and a majority of the votes being
cast for the adoption of the said Act, the same has, therefore,
been ratified by the voters of the Town of Chestertown, Kent
County, Maryland.
