To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Code of Maryland (1951 Edition)
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Election held on Mon-
day, June 8,1953, in the Franklin District of Carroll County,
Maryland, an Act known as Chapter 289 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1953 was submitted to the voters of
the Franklin District of Carroll County, for their adoption
or rejection, under the provision of Chapter 289 of the Acts
of 1953, said Act being:

"An Act authorizing the exhibition of motion pictures
within the Franklin District of Carroll County, after
9 P. M. on Sundays".

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 155 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 289 of the Acts of 1953
and 52 votes were cast against the adoption of the said Act ;
and a majority of the votes being cast in favor of the adop-
tion of Chapter 289 the same has, therefore, been ratified
by the voters of Franklin District of Carroll County.
